My Favorite Clean MAKEUP Must-Haves
Who would have thought that our makeup can speed up aging, shift our hormones, and even lead to cancer?? I didn’t for the longest time. Once I started diving into a cleaner lifestyle I learned how much what we put on our body can impact our short term, and long term, health.
Toxins and chemicals have been linked to infertility, autoimmune disease, anxiety, asthma, thyroid disorders, cancer, learning disabilities, autism, thyroid disorders, and so much more.
I threw out all of my traditional drugstore makeup and started researching cleaner options.
While these makeup products aren’t PERFECT (I wish they were organic) they are a lot cleaner than traditional makeup.

Fruit Pigmented® Ultra Lengthening Mascara
Why I love it:
This mascara is water resistant and free of coal tar, teflon, and other toxic petrochemicals. It smells so fresh, I love it!

Cocoa Pigmented Bronzer
Why I love it:
I am not a fan of shimmery bronzers. So I’m SO glad there is a clean, matte option. I wear this bronzer every day and am obsessed. Another amazing naturally-pigmented makeup option. I have the Cocoa Glow and the Cocoa Kiss shades.

Fruit Pigmented® Pomegranate Oil Anti Aging Lipstick
Why I love it:
Do you realize that putting chemical filled product on your lips literally will make it go IN your mouth––no thanks. I love that this lipstick is fruit pigmented.
In 2007, the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics tested 33 red lipsticks and found that two-thirds of them contained lead. The highest lead content came from brands like Covergirl, L’oreal, Maybellinem Nars, and Revlon. EW.
It’s so refreshing knowing I’m putting something on my mouth that does not contain highly toxic ingredients (cough cough, like lead)
My favorite shade is “Peony” it’s my every day shade. It’s the perfect mixture of nude and pink. They also have a lot of beautiful shades to choose from!

Why I love it:
I have several of their palettes and I mix and match them, but I wear these two palettes every day. The colors are gorgeous and have just enough shimmer.

Why I love it:
It’s lightweight and gives me just enough brightening on my cheeks and under eyes.

Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation
Why I love it:
It’s buildable and I can mix and match the “honey” and “linen” shades perfectly with my skintone as it changes with the seasons.
Why it’s not perfect:
It’s not organic. It’s shiny if you don’t set it with powder, but that doesn’t bug me too much because the matte powder covers perfectly. It’s pretty pricey.

Mattifying Powder
Why I love it:
It’s the perfect amount of matte without being cakey. It doesn’t settle into my fine lines and wrinkles. It lasts a long time.
Why it’s not perfect:
It’s not organic.

One of the first places I advise women to cut chemicals is in their beauty products. It’s something we wear often and is being absorbed into our body. I try to go makeup-free as often as possible to avoid any chemicals at all––it’s been a refreshing transition. I don’t wear any makeup around the house or if I’m running quick errands. I feel good knowing I have less “stuff” going into my body!
